Why wouldn't you want to Millwall to win?

At that point we had a chance to face them. Something we don't get to do regularly now.

"The reality is, we lost because NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THE CUP."

I think the reality is that people see the, what is it, 7 wins to win the cup as an alternative to 7 wins and 21 points in the league; many can't/won't get their heads around the fact that both are equally possible (and probably supportive in terms of team moral).

7 wins in the league is about/over half the points needed to stay out of the relegation zone, so, from a business point of view, taking into account this and next season, it's probably understandable that the pressure is on simply to stay in the top league rather than win (what once was) the top cup in domestic competitions, rather than go (all out) for a tin pot.

Yeah, the fans will remember it, and, yeah it's more likely the cup winning game will be on TV more often, but on balance, sustaining position in the leage gets priority.

Now. If a team got 3 "bonus points" in it's respective league for every FA Cup match win...

And therein the absence of Rice, which I think had a huge part in the third.

What's this bollocks that I'm solely blaming those two treacherous cunts for the defeat on Fri?
I've already had a pop at Pelle and the players.

My point is they've made no secret that they don't give a fuck about the cups and no matter who the manager is, we've always fielded a weakened side under their reign.

Fuck me, anyone would have thought it was a controversial comment.

`I bet Spurs players can't fucking wait to get home to their trophy cabinets every summer and stick a newspaper clipping in there showing that they've come 3rd, while their neighbour who plays for Arsenal stick yet another cup winners medal in theirs!!!`

To be fair though Grumps their manager came out this morn and basically said all cups were shit... if you win one it's just for your ego... the main thing for THFC is to finish in the top 4 every year... at least OUR manager did not say that... he MIGHT think it... but he did not say it... I'll be honest I cannot get my head around 360 and some of the other supporters that just shrug their shoulders... and say oh well... it's all about the EPL... you know what I'm bored of it... so fucking what we might come 8th... or maybe 12th... is that meant to be a better achievement than us winning the Cup in 1980?? Football is absolute SHIT at the moment... SHIT

Not as weird as defending those two fucking leeches, and I don't care what their priorities are, they're not fans are they?

The team put out on Sat was easily good enough to beat Wimb if they played with desire and were motivated.

The likes of Arthur, Obiang, Carroll need to be replaced in the summer as they aren't good enough for a club aspiring for a European place but there will be interest from decent clubs make no mistake.

However blaming the Board for Sat is just nonsense IMO. Yes there wasn't enough investment in the right players for at least 2 years prior to the summer and yes its left an unbalanced squad but when all said and done during that 90 mins one team wanted it more than another.

Trying to make pro or anti Board arguments based on one crappy performance against a lower league team who played out of their skins is pointless in my view

people obsess about formations too much - the second goal had everything to do with Pedro OBIANG, and nothing to do with anything else. Utter shit.

Re: ⚽ Wimbledon v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Dunno why but I forced myself to watch the highlights. Not sure why Pellegrini doesn't see it but I and many others have said it for ages, we do not have the players to play a two in central midfield. Certainly if you are going to try and pass it about. One of the goals especially may not have happened if Rice had been sitting deep in a three, when Obiang trod on the ball and was dispossessed.

The thing is we then also do not have the players (bar Arnautovic) to play one up top if we have three in midfield. Carroll, Hernandez and Perez are not lone striker material.

You "could" potentially play two up if you played a narrow 4132 with Rice holding and three CM's ahead of him but then you a) can't play any wide men and b) our full backs are not good enough to have no cover in front.

So in a nutshell whatever formation Pellegrini plays as the squad is at present he will always have weaknesses in the team but what he must do until he can potentially sort that is stop playing with just the two in central midfield but I doubt he will somehow.
